of common analgesic is effective in combating tumor growth

Scientists from Cancer Research UK explained how a class of common painkillers, including ibuprofen, can interact with a key protein that feeds the growth of many different types of cancer. Ibuprofen is one of several Profen - Particular group of drugs non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - which are being investigated because of the ability to prevent cancer.

A research team from the University of Bath carried out an analysis of the same class of ibuprofen and found that all are processed by the body exactly the same way: through a protein called AMACR, which converts the drug into its active form. The AMACR is overactive in nearly all cancers and some prostate tumors of the gut, among others.

It is believed that it stimulates the growth of disease by increasing the supply of energy for cells. Therefore, according researchers to understand how drugs like ibuprofen can alter the activity of AMACR may help to better understand how they can block cancer growth.

"Our study is the first to test other drugs of the same family as ibuprofen and systematically show that they are all handled by the same protein in the body. Some previous laboratory studies have suggested that high doses of ibuprofen can stop the growth of prostate cancer cells but the reasons for this are not well understood, "says the study's lead author, Matthew Lloyd. According to scientist, to understand more about how this protein is to act in the cells and which molecules interact could provide important clues about how this process works, possibly opening new avenues of investigation for the treatment of prostate cancer in the future.

"This research is part of an international effort to understand how drugs such as ibuprofen may prevent or delay the development of cancer. But there are risks and prolonged use of these drugs can have side effects such as bleeding and stomach ulcers. Understanding more about how these drugs act at a molecular level is a crucial step in order to develop more targeted medications with fewer side effects in the future, "explains the researcher Julie Sharp.

UN urges more action to reduce global tobacco epidemic

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon called for more action on Tuesday to reduce deaths related to consumption tobacco, and encouraged the fight against other non-contagious diseases during the World No Tobacco Day.
"Controlling tobacco can reduce several chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease," said Ban, who stated that smoking "killed approximately 100 million people in the twentieth century and may reach billion this century if steps are not taken ".

Smoking is the second leading cause of death behind the worldwide hypertension, and six million people could die this year due to exposure to smoke, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Ban added that since the promotion of the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control in 2003, which he described as "the best weapon to combat the consumption," more than 170 countries have acceded to it.

Some measurements that includes this agreement are to reduce demand for tobacco taxes and higher prices, establish impediments to tobacco advertisements and prevent the sale of this product to minors.

"Countries use the recommendations of the treaty to protect their citizens, and make it clear that tobacco impoverishes us, both in terms of health and in economic terms, "said Ban, who stated that" we still have much to do. "

Thus, the UN secretary general urged compliance of treaty obligations and urged "few countries" that have not yet joined to do so, with the goal of "holding together the tobacco epidemic and the problems related to it," he said.

Dr Adriana Blanco Advisor of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), an entity belonging to the WHO, said in a statement the implementation of the Framework Convention represented an important contribution.

"We're definitely better than before, because we know what we must do, since there are more than 170 countries committed to respect it. After all, everything contained in the agreement is effective for reducing mortality related to smoking," said .

Prostate cancer treatment with innovative

A study published in The New England Journal of Medicine demonstrates significant improvements in survival in patients with advanced metastatic prostate cancer, prior chemotherapy, when given a novel treatment, the abiraterone acetate in combination with prednisone / prednisolone. The study was sponsored by Ortho Biotech Oncology Research & Development, Unity of Cougar Biotechnology, Inc., an affiliate of Janssen Pharmaceutical.

Abiraterone acetate is a selective inhibitor of the biosynthesis of androgens, which play a key role in the progression of prostate cancer. The tumor itself, this type of cancer is an additional source of production of androgens, in addition to the testes and adrenal glands where they are first produced.

After a median follow up of 12.8 months, overall survival of the group who was being administered abiraterone acetate with prednisone / prednisolone was 14.8 months, whereas the group that was being administered prednisone / prednisolone with placebo was 10.9 months (representing an improvement in median survival of 36%). Treatment with abiraterone acetate also resulted in a 35% reduction in risk of death compared to placebo. This study included 1,195 patients with metastatic prostate cancer resistant to castration that had been previously treated with one or two chemotherapy regimens, one of which containing docetaxel.

Researchers also add that, despite the higher state of frailty and advanced age of the population in treatment, patients adhere well to treatment with abiraterone acetate, whose toxicity was easily manageable and reversible.

"Given the fact that men with advanced metastatic prostate cancer have few options, we are pleased with the results of this rigorous study that shows that the acetate abiraterone may allow greater survival of these patients" says Johann S. de Bono, MD, FRCP, MSC, PhD, Institute for Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and lead author of the study. "The data indicate that acetate Abiraterone has the potential to address a medical need not met for these patients with advanced metastatic prostate cancer and their families."

The group of patients treated with abiraterone in combination with prednisone / prednisolone also showed significant improvements in secondary endpoints of this study: the time to PSA progression (median 10.2 months versus 6.6 months with abiraterone placebo) and an increase in progression-free survival Radiographic (median 5.6 months versus 3.6 months with abiraterone placebo). Also the total confirmed PSA response, defined as a reduction of more than 50% compared to baseline, was achieved in 29% of patients treated with abiraterone and only 6% of patients in the control group.

Arnaldo Castro Figueiredo, a specialist in Urology and professor at the University of Coimbra states that this treatment "is opening a new avenue, because it enables something that until now was not possible" and explains that, for cases of metastatic prostate tumor "initial therapy consists of androgen deprivation. However, it appears that, at one time, the tumor grows back, designating themselves as "hormone-independent." However, there remain levels, although very low, androgen, so the term "hormone-independent" is not, strictly speaking, adequate. The only recourse at this stage is chemotherapy, which is the finish line. "

Professor concludes that "This drug has been shown that, after all, one can go further with the castration androgen ablation, and thus demonstrated with this study, the tumors that had progressed after androgen ablation, respond to this new hormonal manipulation, with little toxicity to patients, which is relevant because it is not always better survival with quality of life. " It also says "like this drug brings new hope, no cure, but constitutes a significant development" and says that "The study was done to placebo, demonstrating that there is no alternative at present.

Arnaldo Figueiredo Castro asks himself: "the question is whether this drug also could be used prior to chemotherapy," which could be important.

With regard to side effects, the most frequently recorded in the group treated with abiraterone and in the control group were fluid retention (31% versus 22%), hypertension (10% versus 8%) and hypokalemia (17% versus 8%).

Given the results of this phase 3 trial, in its interim analysis, the Independent Data Monitoring Committee recommended that patients in the control group, treated with prednisone / prednisolone, all involve transit for treatment with abiraterone acetate. This decision was due to the fact of survival results were so impressive that it would be clinically acceptable to keep patients in the control group.

About 45% of cases of breast cancer are diagnosed late

I have followed here in Amapá many women affected by breast cancer, and almost none of them ever heard even speak a mammogram, which is essential in preventing the dreaded disease.

Actually, do not even know if the public health system, the only two local mammography are working. Just know that when they are running has never availability of places for examination, even for those women with tumors in sight. An absurd and unacceptable criminal.

Moreover, when they discover the disease is already too late, that very little, or nothing can be done to stop its advance.

The worst is seeing the desperation of these poor women and their families, mainly because they find difficult even to perform their treatments out of home. And when they do, go to "guy and courage", because the allowance, valued at approximately $ 200.00 monthly, takes time to leave. Meanwhile, the families are here in Macapá asking help from friends, including conducting bingos to raise funds for the purpose of not seeing their loved ones starve in faraway lands.

On the subject and in order to sensitize our health authorities, found the field interesting and worrying that I would share with you.

Read the article:

"Data Federation Brazilian Institutions Philanthropic Support for Breast Health (Femama) show that 45.3% of cases of breast cancer diagnosed in Brazil are already in very advanced stage. The organization's president, Maira Caleffi, says it is essential to have more flexibility in patient care. The statement was made on Tuesday (10), during a public hearing sponsored by the Commission on Human Rights and Participative Legislation Senate (CHR).

While recognizing the importance of mammography, the doctor Ronaldo Corrêa Ferreira da Silva of the National Cancer Institute (Inca), who also attended the hearing, noted that the exam does not guarantee a reduction in mortality. Besides the investments in detection and the quality of mammography, he said we need a strict control of several other actions, that range from public awareness to perform diagnostic procedures such as punctures and biopsies, through implementation of appropriate treatments and sufficient time to eradicate the disease.

Debate shows importance of actions in the municipalities to reduce breast cancer

The hearing organized by Senate also noted that the fight against breast cancer begins actions with the municipalities, encouraging weight control and regular physical activity, along with access to tests for early detection of disease and treatment in a timely manner. For the doctor Ronaldo Correa da Silva Ferreira, Inca, initiatives of the municipalities along the female population, focused on predisposing factors, are key to preventing breast cancer. Also

Maria Inez Gadelha, the Ministry of Health, said he considered essential to promote action to eliminate risk factors such as inactivity, obesity and smoking. "We need to get healthy life in the cities, because the cancer epidemic in wealthy countries is related to obesity and inactivity, "he said.

conference for wives of mayors

Panelists praised the event will bring together mayors' wives, to discuss policies for coping with cancer, scheduled for this Wednesday (11) and promoted by Femama. Maira Caleffi explained that the event occurs during the 14 th March of Mayors in Brasilia, which started on Tuesday (10) and runs through Thursday (12).

For the president of Femama, the first ladies may participate in programs of municipalities, especially for social mobilization and early detection. She recalled that only 10% of women get to hospitals in the early stages of the disease (90% to 95% chance of cure), where for nearly half of them, diagnosis occurs when the disease is already advanced.

According to the president of Femama, the number of cancer cases in Brazil has doubled from 1975 to 2000 and today, 30 women die each day in the country, due to the disease. For her, many of these deaths could be avoided if there were a better service in the public health.

Anvisa released yesterday, the use of HPV vaccine for men

The vaccine was administered only in women, since HPV is responsible for about 90% of cases of cancer of the cervix

The National Agency for Sanitary Vigilance Agency (Anvisa) released the implementation of HPV vaccine in men, 9 to 26 years. Until then, the vaccine was being applied only in women, as a means of preventing cervical cancer, since HPV is responsible for about 90% of cases.

According Anvisa, new studies have proven the effectiveness of the vaccine also in males. Immunization, however, is not yet available in the public health system, only in private clinics.

HPV, abbreviation for human papilloma virus, is transmitted by genital contact with an infected person (including oral sex) and by blood, from mother to child during childbirth. In most cases, the infection is transient and disappears without a trace.

The Ministry of Health indicate that HPV is a sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) common in the world. One in five women are carrying the virus. In Brazil, 137,000 new cases are reported each year.

Substance found in the string bean destroys cancer cells

Search UnB shows that one molecule of the grain can kill the diseased cells without harming healthy ones

Photo: Nguyen Thanh Quang
Vigna unguiculata cylindrica, popularly known as "string bean"

Researchers at the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Brasilia found in the popular bean-to-string a new alternative for the treatment of breast cancer. A study conducted by researcher Sonia de Freitas in partnership with Professor Ricardo Azevedo, Department of Morphology, shows that a molecule found in the grain, called BTCI, kills cells cancer without harming healthy cells. The observation was made in the student's dissertation Graziella Joanitti which tested in vitro in the presence of BTCI at low concentration (400 micromolar).

result of eight years of study with BTCI (black eyed-pea trypsin inhibitor Chymotripsin) in the future, the discovery may provide a treatment with fewer side effects than the currently adopted, as radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which are not as selective and can cause death of healthy cells. "Being a natural product it can be an alternative with fewer side effects," says Sonia. The disease affects 49 in every 100,000 women in Brazil, according to data the National Cancer Institute. The

BTCI is a class of substances in several important cellular events in response in infection by bacteria and fungi and coagulation. Sonia explains that because the cancer regresses BTCI cause DNA fragmentation of diseased cells, alters the integrity of the membrane and the nucleus and creates structures that digest the cell contents, and how lissosomos autofagosomos.

Studies also show other important properties. The molecule inhibits the activity of trypsin, chymotrypsin and caspase-like proteasome, a protein complex that is related to cell cycle regulation, the subject of student's dissertation Larissa Souza. "The proteasome is a key part in the division of cancer cells," explains Sonia de Freitas.

The researcher estimates that it will take at least four years to conduct clinical studies. As this is a very stable molecule, the BTCI can be easily administered, even orally. A collection of studies on BTCI, which had the support of several researchers, was presented at a seminar of translational medicine, held at University of Brasilia earlier this month.

Research

But a key to the success of the research was the deep knowledge gained in 40 years of research professor emeritus at UNB, Manuel Mateus Ventura. From Fortaleza, capital of Ceará, he brought the knowledge of the string bean and created a graduate of Cell Biology, UNB, where he studied BTCI along with Sonia, who now coordinates the lab.

According to Sonia, this knowledge has provided a detailed study. "It is a vertical search. It began with the purification and characterization of the molecule and now we have the atomic structure obtained from data collected in the protein crystal National Synchrotron Light Laboratory in Campinas," he says. She explains that by knowing the structure of the molecule, one can predict cellular mechanisms and consequently their biological function.

doctoral and masters students will continue the study. One, in collaboration with Ricardo Bentes and Graziella Joanitti student investigates the action of the molecule encapsulated in mice with cancer. Another, in collaboration with Luciano Paulino, Marcelo Bemquerer Fonteles and Manasseh, studying the action of BTCI in relation to hypertension.

stomach cancer affects more men

also called gastric cancer, the disease has its highest incidence in men, and usually turn out for around 70 years. In Brazil, these tumors rank third among men and fifth among women. The rest of the world, statistics show decline in incidence, particularly in the USA, England and other developed countries.

Its exact causes are not known, but people suffering from gastric disorders caused by a bacterium called Helicobacter pylorii seem more likely to develop this type of cancer as well as smokers who drink alcohol and people with relatives who have contracted stomach cancer.

You can prevent disease following a balanced diet consisting of raw vegetables, citrus fruits and foods rich in fiber, since childhood. A diet low in meat and fish and vitamins A and C or high consumption of smoked, canned, with colored or preserved in salt are risk factors for this cancer.

When detected at early stage, the disease is curable, but early diagnosis is a little difficult, since the disease does not usually start showing symptoms. When they occur, the most common are indigestion, disgust, nausea, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, weight loss, bloating after meals, and bloody stools.

bacteria in vegetables causes 14 deaths in Germany

OF FRANCE PRESSE

A bacterium that propagates with the consumption of raw vegetables has cost the lives of 14 people in Germany. Suspicion falls on cucumbers from Spain, who denies being the source of the outbreak.

vegetables are destroyed in Hanover, Germany, who lives outbreak of food poisoning

The record came on Monday the 14 deaths in Germany after the death of two people caused by bleeding by the bacteria enterohemorrhagic E.coli (EHEC), one in the west and another in the north.
The RKI
(Rupert Koch Institute) in charge of sanitary control and fighting diseases in Germany, yet recognizes three deaths directly attributed to the bacterium. But "in total about ten people died," according to information from the regional authorities, told the press the center's director, Reinhard Burger. According

Burger, there are 352 infected patients who have severe kidney problems, known as HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome), potentially deadly. "The actual number is probably much higher," he warned.

This contamination by EHEC, the largest ever recorded in Germany and one of the most serious in the world not reached its peak due to the time between incubation and its manifestation.

While health authorities seek the source of the outbreak of E. coli, its effects reached the English agricultural sector after the first statements that pointed to the cucumbers grown in Andalusia, but has not been ruled out contamination has occurred during the distribution.

In reaction to these events, Spain said Monday through his Minister of Agriculture, Rosa Aguilar, who will ask a "response" of the European Union for damages caused by the suspicion cast on cucumbers in Spain.

"This is hurting the image of Spain, is damaging the sector producing English and the English government is not willing to allow this situation," said the minister at a press conference.

Awaiting the results of the analysis being carried out, which, according to Spain, only to be revealed on Wednesday, Belgium on Monday banned the importation of English cucumbers and Russia did the same with vegetables and threatened English and German extend the measure for the whole EU.

In Austria, the Agency for Sanitary Vigilance urged the gathering of cucumbers, eggplants and tomatoes organic of English origin, which were distributed to 33 stores in Austria.

syndrome cases have been recorded in Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and United Kingdom. All cases were related to travel to Germany.

Males GM of 'Aedes' will serve 18 months in Juazeiro

the streets of the neighborhood land Itaberaba, in Juazeiro (BA), a car with two researchers for each 100 meters. One down and uncovers a pot from where about 500 aeypti Aedes mosquitoes, the transmitter of dengue. The scene repeated for three weeks and, until July, is expected to be released 33,000 males per week. Then the action will increase to 50 thousand to 100 thousand mosquitoes a week.

Celso Junior / AE
C OMBATING. Transgenic males must compete for females with wild specimens and produce offspring that die early

The "spray" of mosquitoes was repeated 22 times on the afternoon of Thursday before last. The ritual is part of a scientific project that creates expectations in the public health. "If you give the expected result, we can reduce more significantly the numbers of dengue ", said the project coordinator, Daniel Carvalho.

" There is no doubt that the project is promising, "said the director of the Industrial Complex and Innovation in the Health Ministry of Health, Zichy Moyses.

The key to these hopes the mosquito is released into the environment: it is a transgenic species that produces offspring who die before reaching adulthood, when they can transmit dengue. In practice, science sponsors sex between mosquitoes that generate offspring incapable of spreading the disease. The ideal is that there are ten transgenic males for every wild male.

The strategy is similar to that used in other parts the country to combat Drosophila, the fruit fly, sterile males are released to compete with wild species the opportunity to cross. To get the male sterile laboratory, he is exposed to radiation - which is not achieved by the Aedes aegypti. "So we used the transgenic technique," says project coordinator, Margareth Capurro, a biologist at the University of São Paulo.

Developed at the University of Oxford, transgenic mosquitoes carry genetic material from Drosophila. In the laboratory, are fed with fish and adult female blood. At the stage of eggs, all receive tetracycline, which allows complete the cycle of life - which does not occur in the environment.

females, the ones that bite humans and transmit the dengue virus are in the laboratory for new crossings. To avoid risk of being released, two are adopted security measures. The first separation occurs in a tunnel slide, funnel-shaped. Because females are larger, do not exceed a certain range of descent. There is another separation process, developed by Oxitec, business incubator at the University of Oxford. "Later, we made a quality control with magnifying glasses and microscopes," explains Andrew McKeney, Oxitec coach who is in Brazil to monitor the search.

Five neighborhoods. Released by the National Technical Commission on Biosafety in December, field work began in February. In the first phase, we made minor releases, to evaluate the behavior of mosquitoes in a lab environment. We checked the distance that the mosquito was able to travel and their ability to survive.

experience occurs for 18 months in five districts of Juazeiro. The choice of location, says Margaret, was facilitated by the proximity to Biofactory Moscamed, an organization linked to the Ministry of Agriculture that was producing sterile flies.

stroke accounts for 10% of deaths worldwide each year not

Yesterday we lost a great Amapá hemorágico stroke victim. Harold Franco Cei was considered one of the prosecutors Amapá better prepared. A brave and honest man. A great friend who always came forward with his great legal knowledge, especially in the area of \u200b\u200benvironmental law, which ruled supremely.

The death of our dear friend, because we think about the stroke, a disease responsible for 10% of deaths worldwide each year.

Believing that the pain suffered The relatives of Harold does not happen again to other families, will begin next week a campaign to combat stroke in Amapá. For this is necessary, first, we know the disease , their risto factors, signs, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

Well. Browsing the internet I found the website of the health magazine, the publisher in April, a matter quite informative about the disease. Worth reading and thinking, because a simple change of habit can save your life together and save as many others.

Just as an example, in the United, there was an overall reduction in the incidence of stroke, because of better control of risk factors associated with the genesis of cerebral circulatory disorders. The earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment of hypertension - for intensive public awareness campaigns, control of diabetes mellitus and disorders of lipid metabolism and anti-smoking campaigns.

Our idea is that here we do likewise, because Amapá is a small state with few residents, which makes the control and management of public policies to prevent more deaths from stroke. Suffice it to Therefore, a simple look for patients with hypertension and diabetes, by the way already receive free medication from the Federal Government, through the program PHARMACY HERE IS POPULAR, I believe there is any pharmacy in Macapa and the private, educational campaigns antismoking, since smoking is an important cause for stroke, not to mention that still causes cancer.

begin the campaign on TV showing the risk factors of disease and its victims in Amapá. We will listen neurologists and consign their lines with small insertions to the public from Amapá.

Wait!

Now we know a little about the disease.

What is stroke?

Stroke. This is the correct name of that laymen often call simply stroke, a problem that accounts for 10% of deaths worldwide each year. Incidentally, the name that crashed in people's mouth is just for one of these attacks the brain - haemorrhagic stroke - which is not even the most common. In it, a vessel ruptures and blood leaks flooding an area of \u200b\u200bgray matter. In the ischemic stroke, which accounts for 80% of cases, something similar happens to what occurs in infarcted hearts: a blockage of an artery blocks blood flow that would irrigate an area. But in both types the result is the same: the cells of the affected area die, causing various sequels. Depending on the site of injury may result from a person's death by paralysis, speech problems, vision, memory, among others. This is a reality for two thirds of patients who survive such an attack. Ischemic stroke

these cases, symptoms such as difficulty speaking or understanding, loss of sensation in limbs and equilibrium unfolding in minutes and get worse over the hour. The lack of irrigation in the brain may have given some warning sign weeks or even months before, in the form of a "mini-attack" in which the signs appeared and disappeared suddenly.

Depending on the cause of obstruction, ischemia can be of three types:

1. Thrombotic - here the cause of clogging is a clot in the artery to the brain due to atherosclerosis. Accounts for 60% of cases.

2. Embolism - In 20% of cases the clot formed elsewhere in the body and traveled to clog an artery that carries blood to the gray matter or who is there.

3. Failure circulatory - the problem here is a failure in the heart that stops pumping blood correctly leading to deficiency of circulation in the head. This explains why a heart attack can lead to a stroke. See details at

infographic. http://saude.abril.com.br/especiais/avc/conteudo_147319.shtml

Hemorrhagic stroke

This type is more serious and worse prognosis. Luckily answered by a minority of cases - about 20% of them. It is more common in young and may be accompanied by a severe headache, nausea and vomiting. But sometimes we can not no signal. It is known that some habits, like smoking, using oral contraceptives (especially those who have much estrogen) and abuse of alcohol and drugs encourage this type of attack.

There are two ways these hemorrhages:

1. Sub-arachnoid - a surface vessel ruptures, spilling blood into the space between the brain and skull. The most common cause is rupture of an aneurysm, the dilations in arteries that are filled with blood like a balloon. In general, the trigger for this burst is the high blood pressure.

2. Intracerebral hemorrhage - the bloodshed is in the middle of gray matter, usually because of aging vessels or hypertension chronic. Only 10% of stroke fit in here.

Risk factors

Studies show that the group most vulnerable to a stroke includes men over 55 years and family history of disease. Moreover, the risk factors are practically the same as those behind a heart attack:

Difference Between Beef Brisket And London Broil

Operation Clean Hands end. Shame on such people suffered and humiliated, but with hope that justice is done.

I just read news portal published by the shameful "land" has clean hands on the operation of the federal police, which involves senior officials of my state for years and massacred the poor, where many suffered for lack of housing and employment, which made it impossible to offering even minimal conditions to sustain their children.

The hope is that the blame for all this calamity are tried and sentenced. Preferably give back what they "stole", because while enjoyed of our public resources, many Amapa died of cancer due to lack of medicines, doctors and beds in public hospitals. Worse, many youngsters have been consumed by drugs and prostitution, as public money for them not reached them even in their fundamental rights provided for in the Constitution: health, employment, education, housing, etc..

All this caused us much suffering, but at the same time the sense of impunity is giving way to certainty of justice, especially when there are still in Brazil corajozos and fearless judges, where his mission, in addition to law enforcement, shows concern for the population, especially the Amapá, the victim of so much corruption.

The consequences of all these criminal acts have led to much suffering our people. It took our beautiful state of Amapa underdevelopment, where even the Free Trade Zone works. The roads are insufficient for the development of agriculture. In fact, there are roads, they are craters, like the one that links the Orangerie Jari Macapa, the third largest city in the state. A shame!

We should not judge anyone and do not allow conclusions to suspects without legal defense, but we can not allow all this to end without a punishment exemplary able to give us back our dignity and our enjoyment of living in the State of Amapá.

The difficulty of Brazil to investigate powerful. Meanwhile, the poor are arrested for theft of tin can ...

A curious report was published today in the O Estado de Sao Paulo, as quoted in full below, and demonstrates the shame of a country that calls itself democratic and law, but for a investicar Ministry of Civil Affairs, one of the highest offices of the Presidency, you need political agreements.'s math numbers of senators seem more important than the discovery of corruption, the chief social injustice, where human beings roam the streets, often addicted and unemployed, while for a simple investigation, shamefully, well find it so difficult just to clarify facts, that the fear of "them", I believe to be true.

Indeed, the maxim that only the poor are arrested become an almost absolute truth, because the rich and powerful, can not even be investigated. All this anger and makes us very small and incredulous at such lack of shame of our political authorities, elected by popular vote, which unfortunately, is often purchased.

Forget the politicians that we who elected them and we should see that the agreements do to prevent embezzlement investigation of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Complaint does not even exist prosecutor, which is worse.

believe in God our Father and Jesus Christ our savior. I also believe in honest and decent men who will not allow it all to become the most shameful event in the country, while millions of Brazilians do not even have food for their daily survival. JUSTICE!!

A booklet containing the Program will be available on the website of the Association.
.
"Especially after the fall of the press law, the Supreme Court, there was a need for specific action to regulate the publication of news, beyond a desire of the JNA in promoting greater transparency in the relationship with readers," said Association President, Judith Brito. She said the program of self-regulation shows "that the JNA will not accept outside interference or censorship in the practice of journalism," and reflects the "tremendous responsibility that take the newspapers."

With it, newspapers and websites should create a model of self-regulation, communicate and be clear about JNA readers what is being imposed. The period for implementation, if a year or more, still to be decided.
.
Judith Brito believes that self-regulation, reflected in the program launched by the Association, is "large, decentralized and designed and implemented as the need for each newspaper, in accordance with their readership, in a transparent manner." The model suggested by the entity, according to Vice President Nelson Sirotsky does not follow any trend, because there is a world standard for the topic, but is the result of the study of various models run in Brazilian and foreign newspapers.
.

.
path indicated in the fourth, the forums on critical analysis, suggest the presence of an ombudsman, professional hired to act as a critic of the newspaper and the readers' representative. Or the creation Readers of a Council, also with clear rules of operation and dialogue with the publication, and also the Editorial Board.
