The CFP (Federal Council of Psychology) is reviewing the rules of the counseling done over the Internet.
The entity has no data on the number of users, but says there is a growing demand for this service, regulated since 2005.
orientation is done online in a few sessions, to help resolve a specific complaint, such as problems school children or a separation. According to Carla
Biancha Angelucci, president of the CRP-SP (Conselho Regional de Psicologia de São Paulo), in which case there is no link as in psychotherapy, the latter being prohibited to be done online, except in academic research.
The psychologist said the council wants to define ways to ensure the confidentiality of the service on the Internet and establish the forms of assistance (such as email, MSN, Skype and similar).
"We want to update the text, which is generic, because some types of audiovisual media were not consolidated at the time," he says.
Also on the agenda of the council to establish the number paulista maximum exchange of messages.
Today, psychologists offer different amounts of online sessions "in a survey of ten sites, there were limits ranging from four exchanges of emails and 20 calls for about 50 minutes by MSN.

CONVENIENCE

Lack of time is the main reason for those who seek online guidance, according to psychologist Daniel Julianetti offering the service.
"It also helps those who are shy, do not want to travel or live in another country." For the psychologist
Milene Rosenthal, the immediate guidance is a strong point of service it offers. That's what attracted
engineer software Neli Duarte, 31, of St. Paul.
She used the service professional to solve problems, but says the service network does not replace psychotherapy attendance, making for a year and a half.
"There, the psychologist can make a better assessment of the problems." To
Julianetti, distance prevents a deep connection, but service on the network has the merit of bringing the public closer to psychotherapy.
